The Halifax Library Association exists to:
*To promote libraries and their services, and to encourage more extensive cooperation and interdependence among libraries in the geographic area of Halifax Regional Municipality.
*To cooperate with other associations on matters of mutual concern.
*To serve the professional interests of library workers in the area.
HLA offers several library tours and social events through each year. Most of the programs are free to HLA members or have a small fee to cover any costs associated with the program.
